Modern Prairie Boho Wedding

Working with the natural tan colour of the World Inspired Tents and the stunning warm glow given off inside, an idea was born to suit this aesthetic. The theme for the 2019 World Inspired Open day, Darts Farm, Exeter, became Modern Prairie. This theme would draw upon a British modern take on American mid-west prairie boho trends. Lush foliage contrasted with the tan colour of the tent and the natural cream hues of pampas grass. The aim was to use a warm palette with striking greens, so our large hardy palms in terracotta pots was the perfect fit, flanking the entrance to the tent and providing abstract shapes and interest to the background of photos.

You'd think that these hardy palms would be just suited to a tropical style wedding, however they perfectly contrasted with the raw umber, taupe and cream shades of the tent and decorations. The palms also gave a nod to the savannas with open land and widely spread trees.

We loved the styling of this themed event! The bride and groom wore almost seventies style clothing with a casual vibe, which then led to a clothing change for the after party. Out came the cowboy boots and a loose lace wedding dress with accessories in leather. There was an unmissable bohemian twist with furniture and decoration in rattan and jute. The inside of the tent had a welcoming warm glow with coral, pink and terracotta accents and subtle alluring warm fairy lights providing a magical feel. 

The extra large hardy palms gave drama to the entrance of the tent raising the expectations of what was to follow inside, and the inside didn't disappoint! Adding symmetry to the entrance is always pleasing on the eye, so placing plants opposing each other on either side on the walk way would have helped draw people inside the tent. We were pleasantly surprised at how the photographer used the palms to add abstract shapes to the background and foreground of the photography. The subtle touch of their form added interest and colour to the photography and provided an unusual twist to the imagery. We loved collaborating with the other amazing businesses to produce this end product. We were a small part of the end product, but were key to helping create an amazing atmosphere!
